Bonnie’s extension activities include coordinating all state 4-H dairy programs and events, assisting with the production of new and revised dairy materials for youth and adults, and being an active member of the Dairy Extension Working Group. She also serves as the coach for the OSU Collegiate and 4-H Dairy Judging Teams.
For the past 35 years, Bonnie and her husband have owned and operated a dairy farm that consists of Brown Swiss and Guernsey cattle. They have shown over 30 national champions and developed a World Production Leader for the Guernsey breed. She and her husband have been inducted into the Dairy Science Hall of Service at The Ohio State University. She was recognized as the Ohio Agriculture Woman of the Year in 1993 and the World Dairy Expo Woman of the year in 1994. Bonnie works continually with the 4-H Dairy Judging Program where she has judged at numerous state shows. She recently served as an official during the 2006 National 4-H Dairy Judging Contest. Her board appointments include the National Dairy Shrine and the Holstein Foundation, along with the Ohio Association of Family and Consumer Science. She taught Family and Consumer Science for over 20 years and was a Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) advisor. She was recognized nationally as a FCCLA advisor in which her students have won 25 state program awards. She also received the “Pacesetter” and “Best Practices of Teaching” awards.
