Ecological Paradigm

  2005 CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum

The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) hosted the second annual CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm in the Agricultural Administration Auditorium. Twenty-one undergraduate student researchers from CFAES and the School of Natural Resources shared their research in a poster presentation format with faculty, staff, and fellow students.

Projects were grouped into four categories as follows: 1) Animal Sciences, 2) Food Science, 3) Plant Science, and 4) Social Science. Ten faculty judges provided their expertise and research insight, evaluating and ranking the presentations in each category. During a luncheon, Dr. Jim Kinder spoke to participants, judges, and advisors, focusing on the influences and benefits of undergraduates participating in research.

In addition to the luncheon, all participants received a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble for their efforts Prizes were also awarded to the top-ranked researchers in each category (1st $125, 2nd $100, 3rd $75, Honorable mention $50).
