UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
Do you want to explore and discover first hand how research advances our
understanding of animals? There are several ways you can conduct
research in an area that interests you. We will help you identify
research-based internships, honors research projects, and student
employment (both on and off campus). These opportunities will provide
you with the experience you need to solve real-world problems. The
possibilities are endless.
The Department of Animal Sciences offers a variety of options for
undergraduates to conduct research in an area of interest. Research is
an alternative to class room learning that allows students to explore
animal sciences from a hands-on perspective. Research contributes to
expanded knowledge through studious inquiry and consists of
investigation and experimentation aimed at improving our understanding
of the biology of animals.
You can explore research opportunities in any of these areas:
Genetics
Growth and Development
Mammary Biology and Health
Management
Microbiology
Nutrition
Nutrition Management to Enhance & Protect the Environment
