    It is that time of year again, the beginning of fall semester means the OSUN seminar series is back every Friday from 12-1PM in Campbell Hall 252 with a video link to Gerlaugh 122.  We have a great line-up of people coming to speak this year so I hope you all will join us for seminar every Friday this fall!

    The Little "I" events consist of showmanship competitions in five livestock species (horses, goats, pig, sheep, and beef cattle). Students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences are encouraged to participate in the events and share this experience. Little I is open to family and friends of students, faculty, alumni, and industry members. As part of the program, you're invited to watch the showmanship contest and/or attend the luncheon and awards ceremony.

    The Buckeye Royal Showmanship contest is open to all students on campus, including those with or without dairy experience! It is an opportunity for students who are not from a dairy background to see, understand, and experience dairy cattle and try their hand at showing dairy cattle. Participants practice handling and showing their animals for two weeks prior to the contest so they can prepare for their class. Food and refreshments will be provided! We hope you will consider coming out and practicing!

    Cost is $20 for teams (A team consists of four members) and $5 for individuals. Prizes for 1st Place Team and High Individual. Only members who have NOT judged meat previously may participate.     This program is designed to give students a different perspective on agriculture and other economic sectors that influence food, fiber, and fuel. Additionally, this program will serve to educate and allow students to experience the various applications of agriculture and construction on varying scenarios, especially within a socioeconomic and ethnically diverse context. Through participating in this program, students will explore culture outside of the classroom and view first-hand applications of agriculture based on varying available resources and needs of the population and/or country.

    Join us for Dairy Day in Wooster on Thursday, November 14! The event will start at 10 am at the Secrest Welcome Center (1680 Madison Ave., Wooster, OH 44691) with 3 keynote speakers, refreshments will be provided. Lunch is free and will be served at noon, with vendors available to talk and promote their products or services. Afternoon sessions will begin at 1:00 pm at the Krauss Dairy, with different researchers in stations around the farm for short discussions and Q&A.
