    From the Livestock Judging Team: The Ohio State University Livestock Judging team is once again hosting a Livestock Judging Camp for any youth who are interested in becoming better at judging livestock animals. At the camp, kids will learn how to evaluate the animals, take notes, and then present reasons. We will go over everything step by step, so it will be a learning process. On the last day, we will hold a mock contest, with prizes and recognition. There will be food, lodging, and different activities that are provided when attending.

    The Buckeye Bonanza Open House and Sale Preview is a great opportunity to come out and learn about the Ohio State Equine Program. Come to our open house and explore the farm! Meet the sale horses and get to know their student trainers. This is an open house for the equine facility and we will offer a petting zoo, sale horse demos, and much more! There will be fun for the entire family, young and old! A food vendor will be present on premises.

    Mark your calendars! Join the Animal Welfare and Behavior Club for Food for Thought: An Open Discussion on Food Animal Production on March 22nd! Representatives from different areas and views of the agricultural industry (including sustainable food, livestock production, animal welfare, and animal rights experts), will be coming together to discuss the issues and controversies of food production. There will be a Q+A session with the audience as well.

Wildlife Control at the Ohio Wildlife Center! SCRAM (Suburban Commercial and Residential Animal Management) is an organization that provides central Ohio with 100% NON-LETHAL solutions to human-wildlife conflicts in the home or business.

    The Livestock Judging Team will be hosting an online sale March 21st on to raise money to offset our travel costs and purchase a van. We have received an assortment of value based items from gracious donors and supporters.

    The Ohio State University, Michigan State University and Purdue University will host The Tri-State Sow Housing Conference on February 13th in Columbus, Ohio. Sow housing is still a very hot topic in the swine industry; it is estimated that only 24% of the US sow herd has transitioned to open pen gestation. However, the transition in housing is only half the battle. Understanding how to care for and manage animals in a group system is just as important.
