The Department of Animal Sciences held a reception Friday, March 1, to meet the animal sciences recipients of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Alumni Awards. The awardees received their honors at a lunch hosted by the college on Saturday, March 2. This year's animal sciences recipients included Ms. Dianne Shoemaker and Dr. Rodney Bothast, both receiving a distinguished alumni award. The reception began at 3:00 with time for meeting the recipients and catching up, as well as light refreshments, including smoked brisket prepared by the department's meat science laboratory. Then the nominators, Dr. Mike Cotta and Dr. Maurice Eastridge, introduced their nominees. Bothast and Shoemaker said a few words after Dr. Ron Kensinger, Chair, presented them each with a copy of the department's history book, "Science, Art and Husbandry The history of the Department of Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University".
