The Bi State Youth Poultry Clinic was held at Fisher Auditorium on March 23. This year's attendance was impressive at 170. Topics included Nutrition, Housing and Management, Egg Production Basics, Showmanship, Selecting Market Birds and Avian Anatomy and Necropsy. Department of Animal Sciences members involved all worked together to help make this clinic another success and included Dr. Mike Lilburn, Dr. Ramesh Selvaraj, John Anderson, Laura Harthan, Keith Patterson, Rick Neuhardt, Jack Sidle, and Julie Morris. Dr. Darrin Karcher, MSU, and Bill Karcher, Eagle Nest Poultry, are also key members of this team. The clinic was started to expose new and experienced 4-H youth and their parents to the science and opportunities that exist in the realm of poultry science. The Ohio State clinic is in its 11th year, while there have been six OSU-MSU joint clinics. Thanks to all who made the clinic a success this year!
