The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences held its 60th Annual Recognition Banquet Thursday, April 4, in the Ohio Union Ballroom. The theme this year was "The Winner's Circle". The ceremony began with dedication of the banquet to our own Dr. Herb Ockerman (pictured above and below), Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences, and Janice DiCarolis, Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics. Throughout the night, Top 20 Seniors were announced, including Animal Sciences majors Leanne Diese, Lauren Eisemann, Bailey Harsh, Mallory Kanwal, Kaitlyn Murray, Alex Newman, Caleigh Payne, and Darcy Richardson. Newcomb Scholars included Laura Whalin (Sophomore), Rose Stankiewicz (Senior) and Caitlyn Mullins (Senior). Jack Fisher, alumnus of the department, received the Meritorious Service to Students Award. Emily Limes received one of two Outstanding First Year Student Awards (nominated by the Saddle and Sirloin Club and the Livestock Judging Team). And, in an exciting part of the night and fitting within the equine-related theme of the night, Dr. Kimberly Cole received the Academic Mentor Award and Masa Alman received the Outstanding Service to Students award! Finally, Nick Wright received a CFAES Internship Award.
