Congratulations Bonnie!
Bonnie Ayars was among four recipients for the 2021 outstanding individuals honored with the National Dairy Shrine's Pioneer Award in recognition of their significant contributions to the dairy industry. Bonnie's portrait and accomplishments will be displayed in the National Dairy Shrine's Dairy Hall of Fame and Museum in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin. Bonnie is a Dairy Program Specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences since 2006.
The other three recipients of the award were Dieter Krieg, Dr. Ric Grummer, and Darrell Pidgeon.

The National Cattlemen's Beef Association and National Beef Board have named Dr. Stephen Boyles, Professor in the OSU Department of Animal Sciences, as the 2021 National Beef Quality Assurance Educator. The National BQA Educator Award recognizes an outstanding educator that best demonstrate animal care and handling principles as part of the day-to-day activities. A common trait among all recipients is a strong desire to continually improve BQA on cattle operations while encouraging others to implement the producer education program.

Congratulations to Ph.D. student, Yifei (Nicole) Wang, who won first place in the research poster competition at the American Meat Science Association (AMSA) Reciprocal Meat Conference (RMC) in Reno, Nevada. Nicole's advisor is Dr. Ben Bohrer in the Department of Animal Sciences.
The title of Nicole's research poster was "Myoglobin Post-Translational Modifications Influence Fresh Beef Color Stability".
