Summer Wildlife Rehabilitation Internship

The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Wildlife Rehabilitation center is offering a Summer internship program! The internship program is designed for students studying biology or environmental sciences. Students will be provided with a well-rounded program in which they will have the opportunity to observe and assist our Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitators with examinations, treatments, and medication distribution. Daily work will be heavily focused on animal husbandry, supportive care, and general preparation for releasing healthy animals to their native habitats.

They pride themselves in offering unique hands-on experiences to all students in our program. No two days are alike, so to ensure each student is getting the most out of their time at their Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, they provide a small curriculum with assignments due every two weeks for the duration of the internship. While previous experience is a bonus, this program is also great for entry level students. The practical experiences gained will help round out your student’s education and assist them in their future careers.
