CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The Department of Animal Sciences will be hosting The Ins and Outs of Internships informational session on February 15th from 6-7 PM in the Animal Sciences Arena. Learn more about your responsibilities as a student and the assistance that your Faculty Advisors can provide! 

  2. Ever wondered how the Farm Bill affects our food and agricultural landscape?

  3. The SP24 CFAES Career Fair will be held on Feb. 13th in the Ohio Union from 1-4pm. Find more information here.

  4. The “2024 Connections Corner: Student/DVM Luncheon” which will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 in conjunction with the Midwest Veterinary Conference (MVC)!

  5. The Department of Animal Science is seeking feedback from students, faculty and staff regarding the current website. This feedback will help shape information and resources shared on the website in the future, and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  2. Black Beauty Ranch (BBR), part of the Humane Society of the United State, is one of the largest and most diverse sanctuaries in the United States.  The mission of BBR is to provide a lifelong safe-haven for animals (bison, equine, domestic farm animals, exotic wildlife, primates and more) who

  3. Wild Sun Rescue Center in Costa Rica is offering a Pre-Veterinary Internship that provides hands-on experience with exotic and domestic animals under the guidance of several vets.

  6. W.H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute are now welcoming applications for four paid internship programs that will run from Monday, May 20-Friday, August 16, 2024. Applications are due February 15th:

  7. Do you have Animal Science/ Pre-vet/ Environmental Science/ Psychology/Education/ students graduating in December that need an immersive internship? Green Chimney's have a unique internship from January to August which includes free room and board and a small stipend located in Brewster, NY.

FULL-TIME JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. The National Student Leadership Conference's Veterinary Medicine program held at Virginia Tech this summer offers pre-college summer programs for high school students facilitated by current/recent college students.

  2. Sims Farms is searcing for a herd manager to manage a show cattle and breeding stock herd located near Marion, Ohio. Find more information here.

  3. The Indiana Beef Cattle Association is searching for a Communications, Operations and Membership Manager to join the staff. 

  4. ST is excited to have two new fulltime position opportunities and hopes to recruit some top talent to join the team at STgenetics as they launch an exciting new platform for animal health monitoring and dairy management.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. The Tri-State Dairy Nutrition Conference is a collaborative effort between The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Purdue University, and the allied dairy industry to provide current information about the feeding of dairy cattle to the industry.

  2. The $1,500 Andrew F. Giesen III Poultry Science Undergraduate Internship Award is given to financially support students who have secured an internship for the year the award is given.

There are resume templates that can be used to create a resume in case you don’t know where to start
