The $1,500 Andrew F. Giesen III Poultry Science Undergraduate Internship Award is given to financially support students who have secured an internship for the year the award is given. These funds are to assist students with travel, room and board, and other related expenses accumulated with their internship. Consideration will be given based on financial needs associated with the internship (e.g., airfare and travel, short-term housing, and other expenses not covered by the employer), as well as what impact the student expects the internship to have on his/her future career.
Students who meet the following qualifications are eligible to apply for the $1,500 award:
-Active student membership with PSA (student membership is free).
-Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a declared major in any area of life sciences.
-The student must have secured an internship for the year the award is given. The internship must be in or directly related to the field of poultry science or the poultry industry. Past internships and internships taking place in upcoming years will not be considered.
-International students are welcome to apply but are responsible for any necessary work authorizations and/or visas. PSA does not assist with this.
Students who meet the qualifications outlined above are to apply here by Friday, March 1, 2024 at 11:59 PM CST in order to be considered.
Application requirements are available within the PSA Awards Site as well as on the PSA Website.
