The Department of Animal Sciences had two poster competition winners during the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center's (OARDC) 2017 research conference on April 20. The competition, which drew 83 entries, recognized outstanding research posters by OARDC-supported graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research assistants and associates. OARDC is the research arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Michael Lilburn was awarded the 2016 Charles Beard Research Excellence Award January 26 from the US Poultry and Egg Association. The recognition took place at the International Poultry Scientific Forum at the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, GA.

"The goal of the Charles Beard Research Excellence Award is to recognize outstanding completed research projects, funded by USPOULTRY or the USPOULTRY Foundation, which have made a significant positive impact on the poultry industry."
