Congratulations to Dr. Alvaro Garcia Guerra in the Department of Animal Sciences in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences on receiving the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Educator Award! This is a wonderful tribute to his outstanding work with students. Dr. Garcia Guerra will be honored and receive a certificate in a virtual 2021 NACTA Conference to be held June 21-24, 2021.
NACTA recognizes those individuals whose efforts represent the very best in agricultural higher education. NACTA also asks those individuals to share their techniques in inspiring the students and achieving excellence. Formed in 1955, NACTA is a professional society that focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning agriculture and related disciplines at the postsecondary level. Its mission is to:
- Provide for all post-secondary teachers of agriculture a forum for discussion of questions and issues relating to the professional advancement of agricultural discussion.
- Seek improvement in the post-secondary teaching of agriculture through examination and discussion of courses and curricula, teaching and testing techniques, facilities and materials.
- Encourage, promote and reward instructional excellence in agriculture and the research supporting this instruction.
