Kelly Mitchell Receives National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) National Dairy Leadership Scholarship

Kelly Mitchell is a graduate student and full-time research associate/laboratory manager working with Dr. Jeff Firkins in the Department of Animal Sciences doing research in “Stimulation of Microbial Protein Synthesis by Branched Volatile Fatty Acids.” This research addresses an important and all-encompassing concern in the dairy industry and will be of great benefit to dairy cooperatives and their member producers.

This award is given to students who exhibit academic excellence and whose research demonstrates a strong, positive contribution to the dairy industry.  In recognition of this honor, Kelly will receive an award totaling $6,000 to assist with her graduate education.
