This year's Celebration of Excellence At The Department Of Animal Sciences, held April 14th, 2022, students from within the Department of Animal Sciences were recognized for their amazing efforts. 

Elizabeth Ohl received the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Animal Sciences award. The Outstanding Graduate Students award was given to Paige Doklovic (MS, advised by Mike Cressman) and Kirsten Nickles (PhD, advised by Ale Relling). Our CFAES Distinguished Seniors from Animal Sciences include Elizabeth Ohl, Bailey Ward, Ashley Stroud, and Sarah Lehner. Ashley Stroud was also one of 20 students who received the University Distinguished Senior award.

 

The 2022 CFAES Annual Research Poster Competition was also held the same week and highlighted the research done through the partnerships of our faculty with students and research scientists. Congratulations to the following: Pat Boley (Scott Kenney lab) who received first place in the Research Scientist category, Madison Pinkerton (advised by Jessica Pempek) for receiving first place and Elizabeth Ohl (advised by Alvaro Garcia Guerra) for receiving second place in the undergraduate research Animal Health category, Sophia Kienzle (advised by Jeffrey Firkins) for receiving first place and Elizabeth Due (advised by Sheila Jacobi) for receiving second place in the undergraduate research Animal Nutrition category, and Cam McCurdy (advised by Kichoon Lee) for receiving second place in the undergraduate research Food Science and Technology category. To learn more about the 2022 CFAES Annual Research Poster Competition click here.
