Kayla Nihiser joins the department of Animal Sciences as the new Youth Program Senior Educator. She will provide leadership to the State 4-H and Animal Sciences in the yourth quality assurance program and curriculum development for the animal science youth programs.
Kayla has a BS in Community Leadership and Extension Education with a minor in Agriculture Production from The Ohio State University. Prior to OSU, she also attended the Black Hawk College East Campus in Kewanee, Illinois. She has served as an Ag Educator and FFA Advisor at Miller High School, a program assistant for OSU in Fairfield County, and prior to accepting this new role, she was the 4-H Youth Development Educator in Hocking County. In addition to serving as a 4-H Educator at the local level, she was very involved in state level programming, including serving on the State Committee Writing Team for Animal Sciences, specifically assisting with the poultry and sheep record books. In addition, she served on the OH-QA Curriculum Committee, was co-facilitator of the Livestock Evaluation Webinar Series, and Chair of the Livestock Evaluation Subcommittee.
