Ms. Yairanex (Yairy) Roman Garcia was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Ms. Roman Garcia is currently a Ph.D. student specializing in Dairy Nutrition at The Ohio State University working with Dr. Jeffrey Firkins where she has been awarded the SROP Fellowship. Yairy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus doing research in swine nutrition and was awarded the Samuel Bacherov award presented to the best Animal Science student. The title of Ms. Roman Garcia’s poster presentation is “Meta-Analysis of Post-Ruminal Microbial Nitrogen Flows in Dairy Cattle”. Ms. Yairanex Roman Garcia was awarded first place in the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Ph.D. graduate student poster competition.
