    Employers on Campus is a new opportunity for students to interact with potential employers. Come to the new CFAES Student Success Center and Library in the Agricultural Administration Building and meet with employers, no appointment required.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Jonathan Hale Homestead

    Five internship positions are available in various farm and horticulture areas this summer.

  2. Zoetis

    Zoetis has opened The Intern Portal for interested juniors, seniors, and grad students. There are currently 26 positions available. Only VMRD positions are currently posted.

  3. University of Tennessee

    Two M.S. Graduate Research Assistantships are anticipated to be available Fall semester of 2015 in the area of forage and grasslands with an emphasis on forage management. This GRA will provide a monthly stipend for 24 months, with both in- and out-of-state tuition costs waived.

    Oklahoma State University has an immediate opening for a herd manager position at the Willard Sparks Beef Research Center.

  3. Goats

    UC Davis Department of Animal Science is searching for a manager of the Animal Science Goat Teaching and Research Facility. The facility houses dairy, meat and transgenic (research) goats in dry-lot pens on approximately 4 acres.

  4. Rabbit

    Miami Acres Animal Hospital in Troy, OH is looking for a highly motivated Registered Veterinary Technician. The position will be approximately 32-40 hours a week.

  5. MannaPro logo

    Manna Pro has an opening in their Sales & Merchandising department  selling their products to distributors, dealers, and other customers. This job requires extensive travel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

  6. Purdue University

    Purdue university is seeking a student interested in pursuing the MS degree to work on a USDA-funded project involving food allergic response in a swine model.

  7. Seal hand stand

    Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals provides animal training and staffing for live animal shows, special events, and production work. Currently JSPA has contracts with the Sea World Parks in Florida, California, Texas and Virginia as well as with the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.

  8. Cow

    BoviSync, an employee-owned herd management software company, is seeking a full-time Dairy Records Consultant. This position will conduct direct sales and support of BoviSync to large dairy farms and provide dairy herd management consulting.

  9. Sheep

    The Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University is seeking applications for a farm manager to supervise its Sheep Teaching and Research Unit.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. Pig

    Applications due April 30. The Ohio Pork Council will be offering up to $9,000 in scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1000 per individual. Students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in college are encouraged to apply.

  2. Scholarships are awarded to applicants whose permanent address is in Stark County, Ohio, are pursuing a 2 or 4 year or graduate-level degree, have a 2.5 high school GPA and have demonstrated financial need. Deadline is April 15th.

  3. Smokey the Bear

    Students pursuing a career in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering, though other majors can apply, are now able to apply for the Ohio EPA scholarship.

  4. Cattle barn

    The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board annually awards up to 19 $1,500 scholarships to eligible undergrads, sophomore through senior. Scholarships are awarded on academics, interest in a dairy-related career, and demonstration of leaderships skills.

  5. The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association is awarding four $2,000 scholarships this year to those that qualify. All appropriate documents must be received by May 31, 2015.
