INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK

ACADEMIC DATES & INFO

  1. EEOB 3498- Undergraduate Research aims to provide opportunities for undergraduates to conduct supervised independent research in social behavior. Research projects will focus on working with live animals. They will also learn applied statistics by using a statistical programming language.

  2. ANIMSCI 3301 Equine Selection & Evaluation? No judging experience is required. The course is offered T/R in Plumb Hall 102 from 8:50-10:55 am. It is a two credit hour lab.The course offers hands on experience judging halter and almost every performance class there is.

  1. Mental Health is very important to PVMA, and in an effort to better the mental health of PVMA we will be instituting a mental health community called SHIFT. SHIFT is a group that comes together to talk about any issues we may be facing such as, stress, anxiety, depression etc.

Hameau Farms is a small dairy farm in central PA and they run a program for girls age 7-14 during the summer months. They are very proud to announce that their program has proven to be a tremendous way to introduce young urban kids and their families to the agriculture and dairy industries. They

  2. The OSU/ATI Dairy Farm has internship opportunities available at the farm outside Wooster, Ohio.  The internship will focus on the day to day application of management practices and the intern will rotate between four different jobs: Feeding, Milking, Calf and Heifer Raising, and Health and

GRADUATE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES

  1. The Department of Animal Sciences at Colorado State University is seeking a Master’s Graduate Assistant starting in Summer 2020 in the area of dairy calf health, behavior, and management. The MS program will include both research and teaching.
