ACADEMIC DATES & INFO

  1. Chickens

    ANIM SCI 3270 will be offered this summer!  The 7-week class will be taught June 15 – July 31 on T/TH from 1:50-3:55 PM in AS 210.  If you’re planning on staying in Columbus this summer, you should check it out!  This is a required course for students on the animal bioscience & veterinary

  2. Those planning to apply to OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Autumn of 2015 (and beyond) should note the changes on their website.

  1. Lab work

    The Undergraduate Research Office is seeking undergraduate researchers to register for the 2015 Summer Undergraduate Research Institute. SURI provides weekly social and professional development events in order to build a community of researchers and provide enrichment opportunities.

  1. Weaver Leather Livestock logo

    Weaver Leather, a local manufacturer and distributor of leather and nylon strap goods, is looking for a full-time Research & Development Coordinator for our Livestock Division. This position will coordinate the research and development of new products from idea to market.

    Oklahoma State University has an immediate opening for a herd manager position at the Willard Sparks Beef Research Center.

  10. Goats

    UC Davis Department of Animal Science is searching for a manager of the Animal Science Goat Teaching and Research Facility. The facility houses dairy, meat and transgenic (research) goats in dry-lot pens on approximately 4 acres.

  11. Purdue University

    Purdue university is seeking a student interested in pursuing the MS degree to work on a USDA-funded project involving food allergic response in a swine model.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. Pig

    Applications due April 30. The Ohio Pork Council will be offering up to $9,000 in scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1000 per individual. Students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in college are encouraged to apply.

  2. The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association is awarding four $2,000 scholarships this year to those that qualify. All appropriate documents must be received by May 31, 2015.
