  1. Chickens

    ANIM SCI 3270 will be offered this summer!  The 7-week class will be taught June 15 – July 31 on T/TH from 1:50-3:55 PM in AS 210.  If you’re planning on staying in Columbus this summer, you should check it out!  This is a required course for students on the animal bioscience & veterinary

  2. Those planning to apply to OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Autumn of 2015 (and beyond) should note the changes on their website.

    The Undergraduate Research Office is seeking undergraduate researchers to register for the 2015 Summer Undergraduate Research Institute. SURI provides weekly social and professional development events in order to build a community of researchers and provide enrichment opportunities.

    Want to learn to train assistance dogs for those with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities? Apply for the Freedon Paws internship for the upcoming summer!

  2. US Trotting Association logo

    USTA has an internship for this summer as an info/ research intern.

    Five internship positions are available in various farm and horticulture areas this summer.

    Zoetis has opened The Intern Portal for interested juniors, seniors, and grad students. There are currently 26 positions available. Only VMRD positions are currently posted.

    Weaver Leather, a local manufacturer and distributor of leather and nylon strap goods, is looking for a full-time Research & Development Coordinator for our Livestock Division. This position will coordinate the research and development of new products from idea to market.

    Select Sires, Inc. is seeking a Genomic Testing Administrator.  This position is preferred to be based in Plain City, Ohio, but Ohio is not mandatory, pending a qualified candidate who is internet and communication savvy.  The position will report to the Genomic Programs Manager.

    Select Sires. Inc. is seeking two Livestock Technicians. One work schedule is rotating days that include working some weekends and hours are 4:30 am to 1:00 pm. The second work schedule is rotating days that include working some weekends and hours are from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

    Oklahoma State University has an immediate opening for a herd manager position at the Willard Sparks Beef Research Center.

  10. Goats

    UC Davis Department of Animal Science is searching for a manager of the Animal Science Goat Teaching and Research Facility. The facility houses dairy, meat and transgenic (research) goats in dry-lot pens on approximately 4 acres.

  11. Purdue University

    Purdue university is seeking a student interested in pursuing the MS degree to work on a USDA-funded project involving food allergic response in a swine model.

    Applications due April 30. The Ohio Pork Council will be offering up to $9,000 in scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1000 per individual. Students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in college are encouraged to apply.

  2. The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association is awarding four $2,000 scholarships this year to those that qualify. All appropriate documents must be received by May 31, 2015.
