CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. HOSA- Future Health Professionals will be selling candy bars in the Animal Science Building and Plumb Hall office until the end of the semester.  There is crunch, caramel, almond, and peanut butter.  This is a fundraiser and an opportunity for more students to learn about

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Dimock Farms, Peru, NY  is looking to fill a summer intern position. They are a 300 cow dairy farm that raises their own replacements and does their own crops. They are accepting resumes from college students who want to build experience and develop work routines.

  2. The National Turkey Federation is currently accepting internship applications for the Fall 2019 semester in our Washington, D.C. office. They seek a recent graduate or a currently enrolled junior or senior with a desire to learn about and advocate for the turkey industry.

  3. Bring The Farm To You is offering two Farm Educator intern positions this summer. Interns will work directly with the public, teaching summer programs. Their main summer programs are their Farm Animal Events and their Child's Homestead program.

The Department of Animal Sciences is accepting applications for Undergraduate Teaching Assistants for autumn semester 2019.  Responsibilities vary depending on the course assigned and the applicant’s experience.  Duties may include grading assistance, student support such as office hours and/or

  1. The DNMC Dairy Summit is an industry gathering of dairy producers and dairy industry professionals that meet annually for a weekend of fun and education. The 11th annual renewal of this event will be held August 1-4, 2019 in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the Eldorado Hotel and Spa.

  2. The Meat Industry Suppliers Alliance (MISA) of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) will be awarding $10,000 scholarships this year to deserving students studying in the Food & Meat Sciences and Engineering at Universities across the country.  Last year they were

  3. The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) launched the Infectious Diseases Student Community of Practice and Engagement (ID SCOPE) in partnership with the Battelle Center for Science, Engineering, and Public Policy, a center within the Glenn College.

  4. Shades Club is always looking to recruit new members! The purpose of Shades of Animal Sciences is to provide networking opportunities for multicultural students with a wide variety of interests, while focusing mainly on animals through education and service.

  5. At A.P.E.S. (American Primate Educational Sanctuary) volunteers take on a role similar to that of a keeper in a zoo. They clean the cages, prepare meals, do dishes, prepare enrichment, and other upkeep that may need done.

  6. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank is hoping to share some of their volunteer opportunities with students and faculty. They have a variety of projects available and would love some new volunteers!
