Adirondack Farms Position

Adirondack Farms, a team-oriented, quality focused dairy farm currently milking 3000+ animals is in search of energetic, quality driven individuals to add to our dairy operations team. They currently have openings in both their transition/fresh cow and in their reproduction/genetics departments.

Transition/Fresh

Primary responsibilities will be focused on the overall care and management of animals from dry-off through three weeks post freshening.  Duties would include, but are not limited to daily fresh cow examinations, assisting in calvings, animal logistics, on-boarding fresh animals in the parlor, and working with hospital animals.

Reproduction/Genetics

Primary responsibilities will be focused on driving reproductive performance in both mature animals and heifers.  Duties would include but are not limited to daily heat detection in milk herd and heifers, assisting breeding team, working with the veterinarian for pregnancy examinations and participating in all aspects of the reproduction program.

While employees will have a focus area with accountability for farm performance in that area, we foster a team approach and expect that all employees will be cross-trained among many different roles both for the benefit of the farm and to help broaden the skillsets of the individual.
