The CFAES Office of Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that effective immediately all diversity, equity, and inclusion professional development workshops will be open to CFAES undergraduate students. In the past, workshops were available only to faculty, staff, and graduate students. The Office of Equity and Inclusion feels that this valuable resource should be available to all members of the CFAES community in order to create an inclusive environment where all people are valued and celebrated. Below is the schedule for the remaining fall workshops along with descriptions and registration links. Columbus workshops are held in the Eastman Room, 4-H Center and Wooster workshops in 126 Research Services. Lunch will be provided at all workshops.
December: Cultivating an Inclusive Environment: Recognizing and Responding to Implicit Bias (Register here)
This workshop will explore how identities, beliefs, and backgrounds shape our perceptions of other people in ways that can unconsciously and negatively impact our interactions with them. Participants will learn how to identify and empathetically respond to implicit bias in order to foster a more inclusive environment for everyone. Cap: 30 participants.
