A Master of Science (MS) degree in Animal Science is available in the Animal and Dairy Science Department at the University of Georgia. The Animal and Dairy Science Department at the University of Georgia seeks to recruit a top-quality student that would be interested in pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Animal Science and has a keen interest in working with a swine research program. This assistantship is for a student that would participate in cutting edge research looking at cell therapies in a porcine model of traumatic brain injury. The project explores the effect of cell therapies on tissue recovery utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and motor function, cognitive, and behavior recovery utilizing computational gait analysis, open field testing, and other standardized techniques (learn more about the research at westlaboratory.org). This student would also work at the UGA swine farm as an integral member of the production team. They would participate in daily operations including animal husbandry, breeding and farrowing, record keeping and other key activities to ensure operation success (learn more about the UGA Animal and Dairy Science Department at https://ads.caes.uga.edu).
