CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  2. Please join us for an evening of food and fun as we introduce you to the new CFAES Center for Human-Animal Interactions Research and Education (CHAIRE).

    Present the attached flyer at Cazuelas Grill on Monday December 4th and a portion of the proceeds will go back to Ohio State’s Pre-Vet Club.

  4. There is a Shorthorn Plus Steer club calf for sale. The calf was born on February 7, 2017. For pictures and more information, please see the attachment or call 614-282-1154.

  5. Buckeye Parasitology Club is accepting new members! This club includes undergraduates, graduate and professional students. Anyone with an interest in parasites (veterinary or human) is welcome to join.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Zoetis is a global animal health company dedicated to supporting customers and their businesses in ever better ways.

  2. The Vet Clinic in Worthington is looking for a part time Kennel Technician on Monday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturday evenings, and Sundays (AM and PM or one of the two shifts- negotiable!). Mon, Fri, and Sat would include cleaning the hospital at the end of the day, plus caring for any pets

  3. There is a 4-H student internship position available at Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center. The postion responsibilities include;

  4. The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC), located in Clay Center, Nebraska, will be sponsoring a 2018 Summer Research Internship Program for undergraduate students.

  5. Applications are now being accepted for the Vita Plus Dairy Nutrition and Management Fellowship.  
  6. Fellowships are available to undergraduate students of junior or senior standing in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field who have successfully completed two years of East Asian language study at the college level.

  7. COBA/Select Sires is seeking a Communications/Marketing intern for the summer of 2018.

  8. Hagyard is currently accepting applications for the Hagyard Veterinary Assistant Internship program.

  9. Tyson R&D Foods is accepting applications to fill 7 internship postions for summer 2018. This internship will provide hands-on experiences and allow individuals to gain mentorship from highly experiences industry professionals.

  10. Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is looking for a summer commercial dairy intern. The intern will be assigned a sales mentor that they will ride with to become acclimated to the sales climate.

  11. Are you interested in a career as a large dairy herd manager? Apply for the Hilmar Dairy Farm Internship. Interns develop skills to become a herdsman or dairy manager. This is a paid internship and offers housing and a travel reimbursement.

  12. The Columbus Division of Police is currently looking for students interested in an internship with our Mounted Unit during the Spring Semester. Internships are voluntary, non-paid positions and are intended for students that are seeking academic credit.

FULL-TIME JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Country View Family Farms, which is part of the vertically integrated Clemens Food Group, has several open positions that they need to fill. They are hiring a variety of postions, everything from farm technicians, to farm managers, to service managers.

  7. The Department of Animal Science under the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Program Coordinator III – Dairy Farm Manager.

  8. Rascal Animal Hospital is currently seeking veterinary assistants and RVT’s to join their animal care team!!!

  9. Position Overview: The Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) will have the primary responsibility for overseeing the animal husbandry on a day-to-day and study-to-study basis. The LAT will perform daily animal care and daily routine cleaning of labs and offices.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Funding is available to students studying in animal sciences or a related discipline to conduct research with faculty located in Columbus and at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio.

  2. A PhD and/or MS graduate research assistant position(s) is available in Dr. Jackie Boerman’s at Purdue University to pursue projects related to applied dairy cattle nutrition.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. Attention Students! Do you have riding experience and are you interested in learning how to start a horse under saddle? Then, AS2401 Advanced Behavior and Training might be the class for you.

  2. Are you a first year commuter student interested in making new friends? The commuter mentoring program is offered to first year commuter students and helps them engage more with campus activities and have an overall better experience at OSU.
