ACADEMIC DATES & INFO

  1. ASGSA hosted a Young Professionals Night on November 9th. There were guest speakers from industry, academia, and vet-med.

CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. From December 1st-16th, ASGSA will be holding a Holiday Food drive. They are requesting granola bars or crackers (individual packages), fruit snacks/fruit bars, canned beans/fruit, boxed instant meals, peanut butter, rice, and soup. All items should be non-perishable

  2. The Intercollegiate Animal Welfare Judging/Assessment Contest (AWJAC) virtually celebrated its 21st year of competition on November 20th and 21st.

  3. The CFAES student council is having a T-Shirt fundraiser! If you want to support them, you can order through this link!

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Philbro Animal Health Corporation has opened their Summer internship application. A description of what they are looking for in a candidate and a job description is attatched.

  2. Applications are now being accepted by the International Stockmen’s Educational Foundation (ISEF) for the 2022 International Livestock Congress (ILC) Student Fellowships Program!

FULL-TIME JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Dr. Lisa Bielke is looking to hire a full-time lab technician in Wooster. She is searching for an undergraduate student and is in support of graduate education pursuit while working with her. 

  2. The National Turkey Federation is looking for a recent graduate to fill a position on their team. Ideally the candidate would be a December 2021 graduate or a May 2021 graduate.

  3. The Tifton Bull Evaluation Center at the University of Georgia has a Bull Test Manager position opening in Irwinville (south central Georgia). A BS is preffered, but they will consider a combination of education and experience.

  4. Kansas State University has two Graduate Research Assistant (MSc) or Visiting Research Scholar positions available in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at the Kansas State University, under guidance of Dr. Victor Gomez Leon.

STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

  1. There is going to be a Global Education information sesson on December 7th in Kottman Hall room 102. In this meeting, they will cover the application timeline, Covid-19 implications, and health and safety resources.

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. Interested in helping to connect new students to OSU and CFAES?

  2. Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it's like to be a Buckeye? The "Experience Ohio State for a Day" (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like.
