  1. Once again our Chair, Dr. John Foltz, has shared his train sets to help decorate for the holidays. This year, both 110 Animal Science Building and 116 Plumb Hall have trains. To celebrate, we're having a friendly competition between the offices!

  2. The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership is excited to offer a new course in International Development Theory and Practice (Agricultural Communication 5170) this coming Spring Semester, taught by Dr. Mary Rodriguez.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. The Animal Agriculture Alliance is currently accepting applications for summer 2019.

  2. Colebelle Farm is a diversified operation focusing on a 120 cow dairy, 2 turkey houses, and roughly 400 acres of crops. Located in Augusta County just minutes off interstate 81 in Spottswood, Virginia, Kyle Leonard operates Colebelle Farm along with 3 employees.

  3. Mitchell Agriculture Ltd. is a share milking business currently located in Southland, New Zealand.

  4. The Ohio State Waterman Dairy is looking for students interested in gaining on farm experience within the dairy industry in areas of production, research, and outreach. Paid positions are open for Spring Semester 2019 employment and can fulfill internship requirements.

  5. A Vet Clinic located in Worthington will be looking for a kennel technician to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. The shifts on Saturday and Monday would be evening only, and duties would including cleaning the hospital in addition to caring for any hospitalized or boarding pets.

  6. Windy Ridge Jerseys is seeking a summer intern for 2019. Duties would include, but are not limited to, assisting with morning milking chores, some evening milking chores, heifer and calf management, mixing total mixed ration for lactating herd, breeding, and herd health.

  7. The Center for Slavic and East European Studies at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for its 2019-20 Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship competition under the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship program.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences is calling for abstracts for the CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum, scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, in the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.

Research positions are available for undergraduate students who are interested in research in the Department of Animal Sciences.  Applicants must commit to full-time research over a 10 week period during summer 2019 and participate in the CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum spring semester 2020
