Cedar Rose Stallion Station is looking for a paid intern for the 2019 breeding season, running from January through mid-July. Cedar Ridge Stallion Station, as a branch of Casey Hinton Quarter Horses, is located in Whitesboro, TX (about an hour north of Dallas) and caters predominantly to the reining community. They provide all aspects of mare care, including artificial insemination, embryo transfers, foaling, and mare management. They will be standing five breeding stallions in 2019 including the $5 Million Sire, Magnum Chic Dream, and one of the Reining Triple Crown winner’s, Not Ruf At All. They also manage close to 150 ranch mares, recips, yearlings, and weanlings.
Many of the necessary skills can be taught and/or honed, but a general knowledge of breeding is required and good horsemanship on the ground is a necessity. Salary will correlate with amount of knowledge. Housing will be provided, which includes all utilities and consists of a shared common area, kitchen, and bathroom, but a separate bedroom.
