CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. Are you behind in your reading? This workshop will help you read faster, remember more and boost your productivity!

  2. On February 28th, 2018 , the Meat Judging Team and Meat Science Club will be hosting Outreach Counselors, from the Younkin Center, in the indoor arena (Animal Science).  The outreach counselors will be presenting information regarding an overview of the Counseling

  3. The next Animal Welfare & Behavior Club meeting will be February 14th at 5:30 pm in Enarson 238. Dr. Boyles will be speaking about disaster management in livestock. Valentine's Day themed treats will be provided. Hope to see you there!

  4. The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association is pleased to host the 2018 Veterinary Exploration Conference and College Fair on Saturday, February 24th! This will be a great opportunity for students to gain exposure to careers they may not know exist.

  5. Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it is like to be a Buckeye? The "Experience OSU for a Day" (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. The Ohio State University South Centers, located at 1864 Shyville Road, Piketon, will be hiring college students with excellent work performance and ethics for summer employment. Students will be hired as a Student Assistant and will be performing field or laboratory-work as required. 

  2. Summer employment opportunities are being offered to junior, senior, or graduate students having a major in animal or dairy science to learn and use research techniques to analyze dairy cattle genetics and management data.

  3. A family owned farm is seeking a multitasker, utility minded person that is particularly interested in innovative use of a farm. The dairy operations consist of approx. 80 registered B/W and Red and White Holsteins with a few Brown Swiss.

  4. As we continue to protect and advocate for the various interests of the turkey industry, the National Turkey Federation is accepting internship applications for the Summer 2018 semester.

  5. There are two internships open with the US Trotting Association! Interns will perform tasks related to the gathering, compilation, and dissemination of racing and breeding data for the USTA, its members and customers.

  6. Black Leg Ranch is offering an internship opportunity for the upcoming summer. The ranch is family owned on 17,000 acres and is located SE of McKenzie, ND, or 25 miles SE of Bismarck. We are a commercial cow/calf operation with 600 cows and graze an additional 2,400 head of cattle in the summer

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Funding is available to students studying in animal sciences or a related discipline to conduct research with faculty located in Columbus and at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. Tomorrow's dairy leaders are here today, in classrooms, 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, and on dairy farms across the country. National Dairy Shrine's task is to encourage, stimulate, and inspire them.

  2. The National Dairy Board has multiple scholarships available to sophmore-senior dairy students and students in the dairy club. Eleven scholarships worth $2,500 each will be awarded. Additionally, the NDB awards a $3,500 James H. Loper Jr.
