ABS-Global has two genetic internships open for summer 2019. The intern will support ABS Global Beef or the ABS Global Dairy research and product development initiatives by supporting data related activities that include data mining, date pipeline development, and data analysis using various statistical and analytic tools. Additionally, the intern will generate information that will inform genetic strategies, genetic program development and custom genetic indices for the ABS propriety genetic program. This roll will interact with individuals across the organization in support of these activities. This position will be located at ABS-Global headquaters in Madison, WI.
Qualified candiates will possess a degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Genetics, Computer Science, Statistics or related field. Strong analytical skills, familiarity with statistical packages (SAS, R, etc.), and experience with scripting or programming tools preferred. Graduate candidates are encouraged to attend along with individuals that plan to start a graduate program in Fall 2019. Qualified undergraduates will also be considered.
