  1. University of Glasgow Q&A Session

    Interested in attending the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine via the FEEPASS Program? There will be an in-person Q&A session with representatives from the Glasgow on March 7th 10-11:00am in 212 Animal Science. This will be a great opportunity to talk directly with the admission team and to hear about this program, which allows you to dual enroll during your senior year in Animal Sciences!   2. MS Translational Pharmacology Online Information Session

    Want to develop skills in preclinical or clinical trial design, toxicology, safety or clinical pharmacology, or advance your career in research administration? Ohio State’s 100% online master's program: MS Translational Pharmacology is designed for students and clinicians with a bioscience or animal science background. You can choose from one of two specializations: Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Trial Design. They are currently accepting applications for Autumn 2022 admission through May 1st, 2022. Classes for Autumn term begin August 2022.

  3. 2022 Undergraduate Research Poster Competition

  4. CMNH paid internships

    Cleveland Museum of Natural History has eight paid undergrad internships for this summer in various Natural History areas including paleontology, 3D modeling, anthropology, zoology, education and with live animals!   5. AGCO Livestock and Forage Internship Opportunity

    The Agronomy and Farm Solutions team at AGCO is driven to enhance farm value through science and engineering by connecting sensors and machines to plants and soils. This will more effectively manage genetics, crop protection products, fertilizers, and other machine-centric farm operations thereby increasing yield and reducing waste. The primary focus of this internship opportunity is to assist the North American Agronomy and Farm Solutions team execute and collect data from field research trials. The successful candidate will support research trials that are a part of the development process of new technology to ensure agronomic challenges are identified, along with trials that evaluate customer ROI and best management practices using existing products. The intern will gain valuable experience in, but not limited to, new hay machine technology, soil compaction and management, best practices for hay harvest and management, and forage quality and its relation to livestock nutrition. Focus product lines include mowing, raking, and baling equipment. Although the position may at times require additional travel, most work will be spent in the Midwest (central Kansas area). The ideal candidate would be based remotely in the central Kansas region in order to frequently visit research trials in neighboring states. Field work will be primarily held in the Hesston, Kansas and surrounding area and housing is not included.

  6. Greenacres Research Internship

    The Greenacres Research Department is looking for a paid research intern from May 1st to September 1st to join their 2022 season. Greenacres research uses a multidisciplinary approach to explore connections between management practices and the outcomes on both our land and end products. The 2022 intern will be working alongside the Greenacres Research Team to provide assistance with monitoring, sampling and data collection as well as with a variety of tasks that are associated with current research projects. In addition to job duties, interns are required to complete an independent project during their internship at Greenacres. But, don’t worry, project ideas will be developed with guidance from your supervisor(s)!
    It is not required for interns to be in graduate school, but it might be more applicable to students who are. This is a paid internship but there is currently not housing available.  So it may limit the students who would want to apply to those are that from the Cincinnati area.

  7. Internship/Employment Opportunities with Certified Humane

    Certified Humane is a nonprofit certification organization that performs on-farm audits and assessments to affirm that poultry and livestock producers are complying with their Animal Care Standards.  Food product bearing the Certified Humane logo can be found in the U.S., Argentina, Australia, the Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Uruguay.

  8. Internship Opportunities with New Day Farms

  9. Trillium Farms Internship

    Trillium Farms, the largest egg producer in Ohio, is looking for interns this SP22 and SU22.  Trillium Farms (https://www.versova.com/trillium-farms/) has two locations within Ohio:

  13. Internship Opportunity at USTA

    The U.S. Trotting Association has an internship opening for an Information and Research Associate. This person would be responsible for gathering, compiling, and disseminating racing and breeding data for the USTA, its members and its customers.  In addition, the position is also responsible for providing quality assurance as it relates to the performance data transmitted to the USTA by its member tracks and other registries.

  14. Research Opportunities At Cincinnati Children's Hospital

    There are full-time positions available at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The Division of Allergy and Immunology is looking to hire several clinical research coordinators (well-suited for students graduating with B.S. degrees).  These coordinators will work with patients or consortiums that study rare diseases.  In some instances, there is some nutrition-related work.

  15. ST Genetics Ohio Heifer Center Job Opening

    STgenetics Ohio Heifer Center is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Auto Barn attendant at our South Charleston, OH location located just 40 minutes from Columbus. This is a full-time animal care position. STgenetics currently has 11 Lely automatic calf feeders, feeding around 400 calves daily. This position is ideal for a dairy production student or graduate.   17. Graduate student opportunity at TAMU

    Texas A&M University is looking for two Ph.D. students to do research under Dr. Guoyao Wu. The labratory is researching amino acid biochemistry and nutrition in pigs, poultry, sheep, cattle, rats, humans, and aquatic animals. The start date is May 1st, 2022

  18. 2022 SURGe Program - Texas A&M University

    Texas A&M's Summer Undergraduate Research in Genetics and Genomics (SURGe) Program is a 10-week intensive research experience under the mentorship of one of their Faculty of Genetics members that also includes a 3-credit hour Bioinformatics class. The free online application is now open for summer 2022 admissions until February 15th, 2022.

    The introductory Bioinformatics class will provide training in modern bioinformatics tools via command-line that are used in genetics and genomics and the credits can be transferred to their home institution. Additionally, students will have weekly meetings, which allows them to explore research and career opportunities in genetics and genomics, discuss research ethics, information for applying to graduate schools, and learn effective oral and written presentation skills.

  19. Amplify Horse Racing Reopens Mentorship Program Application

    Amplify Horse Racing, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit promoting education and careers in the Thoroughbred industry to youth and young adults, has reopened their mentorship program application for 2022. The program formalizes the process of pairing young adults interested in pursuing a Thoroughbred industry career, with experienced industry professionals who can offer guidance.
    Mentee candidates should demonstrate a strong interest to learn and desire to work in the Thoroughbred industry. The suggested age range is 18-25, and there are no restrictions based on academic achievement. Amplify prioritizes applicants with little to no industry work experience, and they must be residents of the United States or Canada. The 2022 program application timeline is January 10 through August 12, and the program duration for each mentor-mentee pair is three months, as determined by acceptance and start date. Eligible mentors can apply at any time.

  20. University Mental Health Resources

    All OSU Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) staff were sent home to tele-commute until further notice.The CCS phone line 614-292-5766 remains available for emergency assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Students can push 2 to reach a mental health counselor at any time.

    CCS has suspended onsite and in person services, including those at embedded locations, through at least May 3, 2020.  You are still able to connect with a counselor  for a 30 minute phone or video consultation using Carmen Zoom or Skype. These consultations are offered 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday in order to check in with students, problem solve, and offer support.  Students will need to share their address/location at the time of the call.

    Students can access many self-help tools that are available on the CCS website at https://ccs.osu.edu . The CCS COVID-19 updates page linked to the website is a great resource. On that page, students will find helpful coping skills such as the mental health strategies video series. This time that can be difficult for many. All students are encouraged to check that out.

    If you encounter a suspected emergency situation with any student during this time, crisis support is available by calling CCS at 614-292-5766. If this happens with the student remotely located, please try to get as much contact information about the student such as name, phone number, OSU dot #, and address where they are currently located. If you suspect safety is at risk or compromised at that time for the student or anyone they are with, please call 9-1-1. They will help immediately regardless of where the student is physically located. After you have done one of the steps above, please let me know of the situation so that follow up contact attempts can be made with the student. Please make sure to provide me with the best way to reach you right now too.

    The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has renewed its partnership with Portfolium.com and will continue to provide ALL students and faculty the opportunity to create a professional, online digital portfolio. In today’s world, employers seek evidence of career-relevant skills and competencies beyond listings on a resume. Students at all levels can easily create evidence-based credentials. In other words, attaching documents, videos, audio files, graphics, coding samples and presentations help demonstrate your knowledge and abilities.
