Webinar: The Inner Work of Racial Justice

It can feel self-indulgent to focus on self-transformation when so many high stakes policies and issues need our attention. Yet Whitney Gherman, workshop facilitator and OSU Extension Educator, would argue the exact opposite: healing is exactly what is needed in these times. Using a trauma-informed and somatic abolitionist perspective, this webinar will examine racism as the collective trauma that it is. Whitney will speak specifically to how white people can get in touch with the deep injury of white supremacy, take accountability, and renew their commitments to racial justice. An optional follow up dialogue session on Jan. 26 will be available to all webinar attendees. Participants will be provided space to interact with the material, share reflections from the previous week, and participate in more candid, intimate conversations. To learn more or ask questions, contact Whitney at Gherman.12@osu.edu.
