CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The AFA Animal Institute is held annually in the heart of the Animal Health Corridor.

  2. Animal Welfare & Behavior Club will be having a mock poultry welfare audit at the OSU poultry barn at 5:30 pm on January 31st! The barn is located at 722 West Lane Avenue.

  3. Interested in the swine industry? No experience? No problem! Dr. Pairis-Garcia is looking for undergraduate students interested in learning more about career opportunities in swine and connecting students with producers in the state of Ohio.

  4. The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences is calling for abstracts for the CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum, scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, in the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.

  5. Do you want to get to know your professors better outside the classroom? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play a competitive game with your professors in animal science? Not to mention… FREE ADRIATICOS!

  6. Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it is like to be a Buckeye? The "Experience OSU for a Day" (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. As we continue to protect and advocate for the various interests of the turkey industry, the National Turkey Federation is accepting internship applications for the Summer 2018 semester.

  2. The National Pork Board is looking for an international marketing intern! In this role, the intern will gain hands-on experience with NPB’s international marketing initiative as NPB represents the U.S.

  3. There are two internships open with the US Trotting Association! Interns will perform tasks related to the gathering, compilation, and dissemination of racing and breeding data for the USTA, its members and customers.

  4. Black Leg Ranch is offering an internship opportunity for the upcoming summer. The ranch is family owned on 17,000 acres and is located SE of McKenzie, ND, or 25 miles SE of Bismarck. We are a commercial cow/calf operation with 600 cows and graze an additional 2,400 head of cattle in the summer

  5. The OSU/ATI Dairy Farm has internship opportunities available at the farm outside Wooster, Ohio. The internship will be available from May through August and would be most suitable for those completing their Freshmen and Sophomore years. The internship will focus on the day to day application of

  16. Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is looking for a summer commercial dairy intern. The intern will be assigned a sales mentor that they will ride with to become acclimated to the sales climate.

FULL-TIME JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Funding is available to students studying in animal sciences or a related discipline to conduct research with faculty located in Columbus and at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. The National Dairy Board has multiple scholarships available to sophmore-senior dairy students and students in the dairy club. Eleven scholarships worth $2,500 each will be awarded. Additionally, the NDB awards a $3,500 James H. Loper Jr.
