Interested in the swine industry? No experience? No problem! Dr. Pairis-Garcia is looking for undergraduate students interested in learning more about career opportunities in swine and connecting students with producers in the state of Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to get your information out to producers and open the doors for future opportunities with internships and careers. Your information will be provided to producers during the Tri-State Sow Housing Conference on February 13, 2018. If you are interested in learning more, please provide a headshot and a short statement (no more than 100 words) on why/what you are interested in learning about the swine industry by January 29th, 2018. "My name is Monique Pairis-Garcia, I am an Assistant Professor in Animal Welfare and Behavior at Ohio State University. I grew up in Southern California and have an interest in veterinary medicine and welfare. Although I have experience working with dogs and horses, I am interested in gaining more hands on experience handling pigs and understanding how a large commercial operation runs.
