Located in Minster, Ohio; Lane Hill Farms is a 200 high-producing Holstein cow dairy raising all replacements and dairy steers from the herd. Additionally enough cropping acres are in the enterprise to grow feed for all the livestock and maintain a healthy cropping rotation, resulting in some cash grain sales. Lane Hill Farms is a family operation with Jim, Rick, Jeff and Chad Riethman as the owner/operators of the operation.
Internship focus will be placed on robot milking and feeding management. The farm employs 2 Lely A4 robots for milking 120 cows with the balance of the herd being milked in a parlor. Additionally all areas of farm management will be touched on by a qualified applicant and any additional areas the applicant desires to focus on.
This internship is open to any college student with interest in dairy and is available for the summer of 2021. This will be a paid position.
