The zebrafish facility on campus has several student assistant positions available this summer ($13/hour). They welcome applications from students who would like to gain experience in aquatic animal care and life support systems. These positions have the opportunity to extend into future semesters.
The position is an animal care position in the Rightmire Hall Zebrafish Facility on west campus. The position is open to all majors and is well-suited for an undergraduate with animal care experience who wants additional training in aquatic animal care. Duties include: feeding fish, cleaning tanks & glassware, organizing & cleaning facility, recording system parameters daily, reporting abnormal fish behavior and system issues, cultivating live foods, and assisting with solving system issues. Typical shifts are 3-5 hour time blocks and are available between 9 am and 6 pm all days of the week. Availability for some weekend shifts is required. The campus CABS bus system offers daily convenient transportation between main and west campus.
