Last year’s Alltech Young Scientist program attracted 191 students nominated by 144 professors from 117 universities around the globe and concluded with a Global Competition as part of the Alltech ONE Conference. You can watch the program highlights here!
Entering the program’s 12th year they will continue to offer the undergraduate winner a fully funded 4-year PhD program to be agreed with the appropriate University and Alltech. Alltech will offer the graduate winner a post-doctoral position in an Alltech Bioscience Center (Dunboyne, Ireland or Lexington, US) for up to 2 years. In addition the winners will receive cash prizes.
To apply, contact a faculty member and have them fill out the attached nomination form. Nominated students register online with the signed nomination form. The registration deadline is October 31, 2016. Students may then submit their agri-science research paper before December 31, 2016 to compete. This is a major opportunity for students to get further experience during the competition itself, and also a major incentive for the winners.
Attached is information on the broad topics to be considered, along with details on student registration and procedures for submission of materials as part of the competition. There are regional competitions – from which the four finalists in both categories will be selected to take part in the final competition in Kentucky. All finalists will have their travel and accommodation fully covered by Alltech to visit Kentucky. It is a very exciting opportunity!
