ACADEMIC DATES & INFO

  1. EEOB 3494- Entering Independent Research

  2. Small Ruminant and Pseudo Ruminant Production and Management (ANIMSCI 4004.01) and the Small Ruminant Production Lab (ANIMSCI 4004.02) will be held as scheduled in Columbus during the Spring 2020 semester.

CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1.  The Human-Animal Interactions Club is hosting Sloth Yoga on November 6 in the Ag Admin Auditorium. Due to the large amount of interest this event recieved last year, there is pre-registration required.

  2. Ohio State Animal Science students competed in the 53rd All American Quarter Horse Congress Collegiate Judging Contest. The team walked away as Top 10 and Top 15 Finalist in Halter Judging, Performance Judging, and Reasons Awards.

  3. Poultry Science Club is taking orders for their 69th annual Turkey Sale until November 13th! The turkeys are free-range, raised antibiotic free, and fed a vegetable diet. The turkeys come from a family-owned and operated company.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Topnotch Livestock is a show wether goat and lamb production firm.

  2. The Hilmar Dairy Internship program is accepting applications now through December 10, 2019 at 5 pm PST. The internship is designed for college sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in dairy science, dairy management, animal science or vet science.

The College of Veterinary Medicine, Parasitology Section is looking for an upbeat, positive, and responsible undergraduate who might have an interest in veterinary parasites and would be willing to work in the VM III teaching laboratory.  The student worker will learn about the parasites and the

  4. Breeding Season is approaching for horses and Fort Christopher's Thoroughbreds is recruiting interns!

  5. Fine Swine has just sent out their application for internships. This internship will be from May 2020 through August 2020. Students will be working as gestation and farrowing technicians to understand the day to day operations of a commercial sow farm.

  6. Alta Genetics is looking for students interested in a 2020 internship. Alta Genetics focuses on several areas that allow you to customiza and design your opprotunities.

  7. Beechwold Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire multiple kennel technicians onto their great team of employees. Typical duties include taking care of boarding animals, giving baths, and cleaning the clinic. Kennel shifts are generally in the evening, and are somewhat flexible on the start time

  8. A privately owned hunter/jumper barn in Sunbury is looking for part time help. The barn teaches lessons in the evenings and travels to shows around two weeks a month. Duties would include grooming, tacking, and bathing horses.

  9. Kentucky Equine Management is now accepting applications for their upcoming Spring 2020 Breeding and Reproduction internship!

    Interns live and work on central Kentucky Thoroughbred farms and attend weekly lectures on topics of importance to reproduction and breeding.

GRADUATE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES

STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

  1. Panama: Through the Lens of AgriCulture, Sustainability and Diversity is a study abroad program designed to overcome barriers. The program is designed to be inclusive of first-generation, underrepresented students of color, and low-income students.

  2. The goal of this program is to help students develop cultural awareness and problem-solving skills while also allowing students to conduct international sustainable service-learning projects.
