Farm Manager Position

Nandi Veterinary Associates, a breeding farm in Southeastern PA is looking for a hands on farm manager. They currently foal between 70 and 90 mares a year, stand several stallions, collect transient stallions, breed mares with fresh, frozen and cooled semen as well as perform embryo transfer. They maintain an embryo transfer recipient herd on site. The foaling mares are predominantly Standardbred but we see a variety of other breeds for our breeding work. Ability to handle stallions is required. Foaling experience also needed. This position is a full time, salaried position. The manager is responsible for the daily running of the barn and exemplary care of the horses, managing staff (we generally have 3-5 full time and 1-2 part time staff, varying with the time of year), ordering of supplies, and seeing to the care and maintenance of the facility. Applicant must be able to lead a team and take direction well.

Job requires ability to operate machinery, tractor and horse trailer. Applicant will be required to ensure daily barn chores are completed in a timely manner: turnout, feed, stalls cleaned, and assist with facility projects (fencing, repairs, etc). Applicant will also be in charge ordering hay, bedding, feed, etc and managing timely delivery of supplies. This is a physical position and applicant must be able to lift 70 pounds. The manager will maintain a high standard of professionalism between themselves, clients, and staff. They are seeking a self-starter with excellent communication and customer service skills.
