CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. Dr. Craig Harms will be coming to speak about farmed fish welfare! Wednesday, November 1st at 6:30 in Room 111N (north side of the arena) of the Animal Science Building.

  2. The event is an opportunity to learn more about shelter medicine, forensic medicine, animal welfare ,and tips for vet school/practice. Not to mention, free snacks! The event is on November 8 at 6pm.

  3. Think You Can Judge? The Department of Animal Sciences & the Meat Science Club invites you to try meat judging: Beef, Pork, & Lamb Carcasses: Beef & Pork Wholesale Cuts   THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, 2017
  4. The Little International events consist of showmanship competitions in five livestock species (goats have been added this year), and a Ham and Corned Beef Curing Contest.

  5. Buckeye Parasitology Club is accepting new members! This club includes undergraduates, graduate and professional students. Anyone with an interest in parasites (veterinary or human) is welcome to join.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. The National Turkey Federation is accepting internship applications for the Spring 2018 semester. Interns will have the opportunity to gain a strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process, communications management and trade association structure. 

  2. COBA/Select Sires is seeking a Communications/Marketing intern for the summer of 2018.

  3. Hagyard is currently accepting applications for the Hagyard Veterinary Assistant Internship program.

  11. Position Overview: The Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) will have the primary responsibility for overseeing the animal husbandry on a day-to-day and study-to-study basis. The LAT will perform daily animal care and daily routine cleaning of labs and offices.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

  1. Several college scholarships are available to beef industry youth through the Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation. These scholarships are administered through the Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation in conjunction with various organizations and individuals.
