COLUMBUS EVENTS

  1. Made LOCAL Marketplace is a unique arts and crafts show featuring over 100 local vendors. The Made LOCAL Marketplace Fall Show is on Saturday, October 19, at Alton Farmstead from 12 pm – 5 pm

  2. Join the Ohio Wildlife Center for a Howl-O-Ween events on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25 from 4-7 pm.  You’ll meet creatures of the night including bats, snakes, crows, owls and many more at this family-friendly

NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The Dept. of Animal Sciences is now taking orders for embroidered and screen print clothing items (button up shirts, polos, jackets, vests, sweatshirts, hats, etc.). This is only done once a year and everything is "made to order”.

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. URUS is starting a program for undergraduate dairy students, URUS Dairy Consulting Experience.

  2. Ohio Poultry Association has partnered with OSU to host the second annual Poultry Industry Career & Learning Day, which will feature speakers from prominent poultry companies in Ohio and representatives from OSU.

  3. The CFAES Ambassador Team is made up of 25-35 undergraduate students who serve as the face of the college to prospective students, guests, alumni, and donors.  In addition to representing the college, CFAES ambassadors have an abundance of opportunities to develop communication and team building

  4. Persons who have a strong desire to pursue a career in managing and/or marketing Registered Jersey™ cattle are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Fred Stout Experience awards. The awards are presented annually in memory of Fred J. Stout Sr., Mt.

STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Fine Swine has just sent out their application for internships. This internship will be from May 2020 through August 2020. Students will be working as gestation and farrowing technicians to understand the day to day operations of a commercial sow farm.

  3. The National Turkey Federation is currently accepting internship applications for the Spring 2020 semester in our Washington, D.C. office. They are seeking a recent graduate or a currently enrolled junior or senior with a desire to learn about and advocate for the turkey industry.

  4. Alta Genetics is looking for students interested in a 2020 internship. Alta Genetics focuses on several areas that allow you to customiza and design your opprotunities.

  5. Beechwold Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire multiple kennel technicians onto their great team of employees. Typical duties include taking care of boarding animals, giving baths, and cleaning the clinic. Kennel shifts are generally in the evening, and are somewhat flexible on the start time

  6. A privately owned hunter/jumper barn in Sunbury is looking for part time help. The barn teaches lessons in the evenings and travels to shows around two weeks a month. Duties would include grooming, tacking, and bathing horses.

  7. Kentucky Equine Management is now accepting applications for their upcoming Spring 2020 Breeding and Reproduction internship!

    Interns live and work on central Kentucky Thoroughbred farms and attend weekly lectures on topics of importance to reproduction and breeding.
