CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The Buckeye Leadership Fellows Program (BLF) is currently recruiting and accepting applications for the 2021 Cohort. Prospective Fellows are encouraged to submit an application as the deadline to apply is Friday, October 5 at 11:59 p.m.

  2. Where your revolutionary ideas build the future of farming! SmartAg4.0 is a competition for students who are passionate about revolutionizing the future of food system through technology and innovation.

  3. The Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Leaders Conference will once again be held in Kansas City, MO from Nov. 1-4, 2018.

  4. We already have over 138 companies registered for our fall career expos. You don't want to miss this perfect opportunity to speak with dozens of companies for internships and jobs in one place. CFAES will hold their career fair on September 27!

  5. Citation Needed will be having their first meeting on Wednesday, September 12 at 5:30pm in Room 114, Parker Food Science Building. This is your chance to learn the skills needed to help the public understand and connect with the food, agriculture, and nutrition science that you know and love!

  6. Are you interested in applying to the joint veterinary technology program?  If you’re a first or second-year student with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, come to the mandatory information session on Thursday, Sept.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Persons who have a strong desire to pursue a career in managing and/or marketing Registered Jersey™ cattle are encouraged to apply for the 2019 Fred Stout Experience awards.

  2. Maine Coast Heritage Trust is offering two apprenticeships at Aldermere Farm for individuals pursuing careers in agriculture. The lessons they learn go beyond the logistics of farm operations.

  3. The Advancement Team in the College of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a student assistant.  Responsibilities include; preparing gift thank you notes and letters, coordinate mailings, assisting with event logistics, managing storage areas, and coordinate files for the development office.  Pos

  4. BARK is what happens when a bunch of crazy dog people turn an obsession into a profession. Their office is filled with dogs barking and burping, wrassling and chirping. (And laughter.

  5. Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show interns are vital to the success of the largest annual meeting in the U.S. beef cattle industry.

  6. Stringtown Animal Hospital is looking for a Vet Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, hospital cleaning and stocking. Good wages, great experience and a fun team to work with. Part time or full time hours possible.

  7. Diamond Creek Farm has an internship position open for summer 2019. This is an exciting opportunity for college students looking to break into the equine industry! Interns will be provided with housing, including utilities, and $400 salary per week.

  8. The National Turkey Federation has protected and advocated for the various interests of the turkey industry since 1940.

  9. Valkyre Stud is a commercial thoroughbred operation located in Central Kentucky. They are currently seeking qualified interns to participate in their Spring educational program that will provide hands on experience in the areas of foaling, reproduction and general herd care.

GRADUATE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES

  1. One graduate research assistantship (M.S. or PhD in Animal or Dairy Sciences) will be available for a spring 2019 start with a focus on the relationship between heat abatement and health in pastured dairy cattle.

FULL-TIME JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Fresh Mark Technical Services has a full-time senior research and development technician position available.

  2. Trueman Farms has immediate full-time and part-time positions open. Applicants will be exposed to veterinary care, have the opportunity to obtain leadership roles, and further their knowledge in horse care, handling, and training. Experience is not required, but preferred.

  1. National Dairy Herd Information Association (DHIA) is now accepting applications for $1,000 scholarships! Applicants must be a family member or and employee of a herd on a DHI test, family member of a DHI employee, or employee of DHI affiliate.

STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

  2. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for Propel Ohio: Collegiate Leadership Summit 2018!

  3. At A.P.E.S. (American Primate Educational Sanctuary) volunteers take on a role similar to that of a keeper in a zoo. They clean the cages, prepare meals, do dishes, prepare enrichment, and other upkeep that may need done.

  4. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank is hoping to share some of their volunteer opportunities with students and faculty. They have a variety of projects available and would love some new volunteers!
