Ohio Cattleman's Association is looking for five spring interns. The Spring Semester Internships are all 20 hours per week and run January through the Ohio Beef Expo into the latter part of April depending on the position need. Each successful spring semester intern will receive a $1,000 scholarship. A scholarship will be awarded to each intern and the intern can earn credit while completing the internship.
Industry Relations Intern
The primary responsibility of this intern will include assisting with the preparation and implementation of the Ohio Beef Expo's Trade Show. This intern will also assist with communications of the Ohio Beef Expo including advertising and event photography. This position will assist with preparation of the Ohio Cattleman magazine and the OCA Annual Meeting & Banquet including developing award winners' press releases.
Member Services Intern
The Member Services Intern's responsibilities will focus on coordinating OCA's membership campaign and working with the County Cattlemen's organizations during their county recruitment contest. This intern will assist with membership updates and newsletters. Additionally, this position will help coordinate the Genetic Pathway and Membership Booth areas at the Ohio Beef Expo. This internship will provide the opportunity to work with industry leaders to coordinate educational components at the Ohio Beef Expo.
Public Relations Intern
This position will focus on assisting with the public relation needs of the Ohio Beef Expo. This intern will work to update content to www.ohiobeefexpo.com prior to the event as well as work onsite updating content during the event. This intern will also be responsible for all press releases about the Ohio Beef Expo both prior to and after the event.
Youth Activities Intern
This position will focus on assisting with coordinating the Ohio Beef Expo Junior Show including fundraising and show management. In addition the successful candidate will assist with the Beef Exhibitor Show Total (BEST) Program by attending shows and will help coordinate the program. This position will also help coordinate and execute the BEST Youth Weekend.
Beef Improvement Intern
The Beef Improvement Intern's responsibilities will include assisting with Ohio Beef Expo's breed shows and sales. This position will provide support for the OCA Seedstock Improvement Sale through catalog preparation and advertising. The successful candidate will also work with the OSU Extension Beef Team to execute advanced winter educational programs.
