  1. How Animals Can Make You Sick: An Introduction to Zoonoses (VETPREV 5721) is being offered again this Spring after positive feedback from the past two editions.

  2. This year's Food and Agricultural Sciences Career Fair is going to be held virtually on Handshake from 1-5 pm on Thursday, September 30th.


  1. Applications for the US Cellular Agriculture Hackathon just opened.

  2. The Animal Science department is now taking orders for departmental embroidered and screen print clothing items (button up shirts, polos, jackets, vests, sweatshirts, hats, etc.).

  3. The Center for Human Animal Interactions Research and Education is hosting a Human-Animal Internactions day! It will be held on October 2nd, from noon to five.


  1. The application for the Spring 2022 Kentucky Equine Management Internship is now open! The application deadline is October 31, 2021. They are holding virtual information sessions on October 6th and October 11th.

  2. Central Star Cooperative has released their internship program this week. They're hiring six A.I.

  3. Merck Animal Health is looking for Summer Cattle Field Sales interns in Western Pennsylvania! Applicants must have completed two years of school and be currently enrolled, and if graduating in the Spring of 2022, must be accepted to graduate school.

  4. Summer internship spots have opened up at Cargill Dairy! Applications are due by October 17th and interviews will be held on October 22nd.

  6. The CSU Breeding Farm Internship for January 2022 is now open for application!

  7. The NBCA is looking for excellent college students (Junior level or higher) to be a Convention Intern in Houston, Texas! The deadline to apply is October 15th.

  8. Genus/ABS Global is now recruiting for a variety of exciting North American Summer 22' internship opportunities and their new Wisconsin Co-op program!

  9. The PACE AG Group is looking for 2022 Dairy Production Summer Interns who want to gain experience in large scale dairy farm management and business. 

  10. Miamitown Equine Veterinary Services is hiring in Cleves, Oh. Qualified candidates are detail oriented, self-motivated, and organized. Our fast-paced practice requires efficiency as a top priority.


  12. Schneider's is hiring for the Quarter Horse Congress from September 20th through October 24th. There are positions open in their retail booth.Schneider's also has entry level and beyond positions open in their corporate office.


  1. There will be an informational session for students interested in graduate school or wanting more information about graduate school on October 26th at 6:00 pm by zoom or in Plumb 220.  The information is especially appropriate for juniors and seniors.

  2. Develop skills in preclinical or clinical trial design, toxicology, safety or clinical pharmacology, or advance your career in research administration.


  1. There is a position opening for a Reigonal Animal Science and Forages Extension Agent at Auburn University! The application deadline is December 5th.

  2. Buschur Dairy is hiring a full-time dairy cow feeder! Applicants woudl work 8-9 hours a day and some weekends. They would also need to be comfortable with heavy-lifting and prior dairy-knowledge is appreciated.

  3. The Texas A&M Summer Undergraduate Research in Genetics and Genomics (SURGe) Program is a 10-week intensive research experience under the mentorship of one of their Faculty of Genetics members that include a 3-credit hour Bioinformatics class.

  5. The William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute is a private, not-for-profit organization with educational, research, and demonstration facilities located in Chazy, New York.

  6. ULAR is in need of technicians in their lab animal facilities, and would welcome any applicants from the Animal Sciences graduates and students. They are mostly looking for full time employees, but would try to accommodate some current students as well. Anyone interested can contact Dr.


  1. The Powell Chamber Farmer’s Market features about 30 vendors/farmers selling vegetables, fruit, plants, breads, pies, baked goods, and crafts such as jewelry, candles, and lotions. The market is every Saturday and Sunday May 22-October 10th from 9am – 12pm.


  1. The Lallemand Forward Scholarship is still open for undergraduate, DVM,

Targeting Excellence is a 510c3 that raises money to award scholarships to students majoring in food animal agriculture.  Students pursuing Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degrees are eligible for the scholarships.  It is well-known that college is expensive and this is a great opportunity for

  3. Part of the Lallemand Forward program is an annual scholarship opportunity with awards for undergraduate, DVM, masters, and PhD students.  They have started accepting applications now through Sep. 30th.


  1. There will be information sessions about the FAES European Equestrian Studies education abroad program on September 22nd and 29th. The session on the 22nd is in-person from 12:00-1:00 pm at Kottman hall room 104. The session on the 29th will be held virtually from 5:30-6:30 pm


  1. The Office of Student Life – Buckeye Leadership Fellows Program (BLF) is accepting applications for our next cohort, BLF ’24.

  2. We need volunteers to host prospective high school students and show them around campus! EOFD Hosts volunteer to have prospective high school students shadow them from approximately 9:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m. for 3 to 4 weekdays total each semester.

  3. At this event, students will be able to meet with professionals from different areas within Purina Animal Nutrition, making connections and gaining a deeper knowledge of the career opportunities that are available to them in industry. It will take place online on October 14th.

  4. The Animal Welfare Judging and Assessment Contest (AWJAC) provides a unique educational experience where students learn to assess animal welfare in a variety of settings using evidence-based methods and oral reasoning.


  1. All OSU Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) staff were sent home to tele-commute until further notice.The CCS phone line 614-292-5766 remains available for emergency assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
