Horsemen's Association Meeting

Employers on Campus

Employers on Campus is a new opportunity for students to interact with potential employers. Come to the new CFAES Student Success Center and Library in the Agricultural Administration Building and meet with employers, no appointment required.

Tickets to Temple Grandin’s April 17 presentation, “Animals Make Us Human,” are now available to CFAES students!

Experience OSU for a Day Hosts Needed

Experience OSU for a Day (EOFD) allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like. Prospective high school students visit CFAES frequently and there is a great need for volunteers to show them around.

Summer ANR Student Position

There is a student assistant position available with the OSU Extenstion Mahoning County as an Agriculture and Natural Resources/Farm Business Analyst. Applications due April 10th.

Global Health Program in India

This independent study course on Global Health is taught by Prof. Usha Menon of the College of Nursing, with in-country preceptors (student must register for this course) in Mumbai, India.

Farm and Horticulture Internships

Five internship positions are available in various farm and horticulture areas this summer.

Quality Assurance Analyst

The T. Marzetti Company is seeking a part time Quality Assurance Analyst. Candidates must be available to work flexible weekday hours (M-F) and cover weekend shifts as needed. Total weekly hours available are 29.5 hours.

Zoetis Internships

Zoetis has opened The Intern Portal for interested juniors, seniors, and grad students. There are currently 26 positions available. Only VMRD positions are currently posted.

Autumn Rose Farms

Autumn Rose Farm in Plain City is looking for two individuals to help with barn chores and maintenance. Horse experience is preferred but not required. Must have experience operating farm machinery. Most hours will be early morning or evening shifts.

M.S. Graduate Research

Two M.S. Graduate Research Assistantships are anticipated to be available Fall semester of 2015 in the area of forage and grasslands with an emphasis on forage management. This GRA will provide a monthly stipend for 24 months, with both in- and out-of-state tuition costs waived.

Whitman's Feed & Grain, Inc.

Witmer’s Feed and Grain, Inc. is seeking 4-5 highly motivated students for their 12-14 week paid internship during the summer of 2015. Students will be participating in their replacement heifer rearing project. Duties include data collection, data analysis and travel to many dairy farms.

Registered Vet Tech

Miami Acres Animal Hospital in Troy, OH is looking for a highly motivated Registered Veterinary Technician. The position will be approximately 32-40 hours a week.

Sales and Merchandising Position

Manna Pro has an opening in their Sales & Merchandising department selling their products to distributors, dealers, and other customers. This job requires extensive travel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

MS Grad School Opportunity

Purdue university is seeking a student interested in pursuing the MS degree to work on a USDA-funded project involving food allergic response in a swine model.

JSPA Trainer Positions

Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals provides animal training and staffing for live animal shows, special events, and production work. Currently JSPA has contracts with the Sea World Parks in Florida, California, Texas and Virginia as well as with the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.

Dairy Records Consultant

BoviSync, an employee-owned herd management software company, is seeking a full-time Dairy Records Consultant. This position will conduct direct sales and support of BoviSync to large dairy farms and provide dairy herd management consulting.

Sheep Teaching and Research Center Manager

Ohio Pork Council Scholarships

Applications due April 30. The Ohio Pork Council will be offering up to $9,000 in scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1000 per individual. Students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in college are encouraged to apply.

Stark County Dairy Promoters

Scholarships are awarded to applicants whose permanent address is in Stark County, Ohio, are pursuing a 2 or 4 year or graduate-level degree, have a 2.5 high school GPA and have demonstrated financial need. Deadline is April 15th.

Ohio EPA Scholarship

Students pursuing a career in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering, though other majors can apply, are now able to apply for the Ohio EPA scholarship.

NDPRB Scholarship

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board annually awards up to 19 $1,500 scholarships to eligible undergrads, sophomore through senior. Scholarships are awarded on academics, interest in a dairy-related career, and demonstration of leaderships skills.

NPFDA Scholarship

The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association is awarding four $2,000 scholarships this year to those that qualify. All appropriate documents must be received by May 31, 2015.
