The chart below illustrates the degrees and options available to students who want to pursue animal or meat sciences. The Department of Animal Sciences offers majors and minors as described below. Students choosing to major in Animal Sciences (with a B.S. in Agriculture) will select one of 3 specializations. Degree sheets for each major and minor can be found at the links at right.

*Veterinary Technology Specialization is a joint degree program between The Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Animal Sciences and Columbus State Community College (CSCC) that will result in a B.S. in Agriculture from OSU and an Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology.
Internship: All students are required to complete an approved internship.

Minors
Minors Meat Science Minor is not available to students majoring in Meat Sciences
Students enrolled in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University are required to complete a minor to graduate. Equine Science Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences; option as a 2nd minor for Animal Biosciences and Animla Industry Specializations. 
Human-Animal Interactions Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences; option as a 2nd minor for al Biosciences and Animal Industries Specializations.
Dairy Science Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences.
Animal Pre-Veterinary Medicine Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences.
Animal Nutrition Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences.
Animal Sciences Minor is not available to students majoring in Animal Sciences.
Note, studnets in the Veterinary Technology Joint Progarm will complete a set of courses required for the program that will fulfill their minor requirements.
