Student-Faculty Winter Mixer
The Animal Science Department is hosting Fajita Fiesta, a student-faculty winter mixer! Feel free to stop by Tuesday, January 23rd in the Animal Sciences Arena from 5:30-7:30. This is a great way to get to know your professors and make new connections.
The “2024 Connections Corner: Student/DVM Luncheon” which will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 in conjunction with the Midwest Veterinary Conference (MVC)!
The Department of Animal Science is seeking feedback from students, faculty and staff regarding the current website. This feedback will help shape information and resources shared on the website in the future, and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture is currently accepting applications for the following additional 2024 Summer Internship positions:
Pathology Intern – ADDL – The deadline for applying is Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Kentucky Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (KESMARC) has extended the application deadline for our Summer internship program. The new deadline to apply is January 31st!
The Ohio Soybean Council is seeking judges to evaluate youth science fair projects at district science fairs across Ohio on Saturday mornings in March.
W.H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute Summer Internships
W.H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute are now welcoming applications for four paid internship programs that will run from Monday, May 20-Friday, August 16, 2024. Applications are due February 15th:
Parker Dairy Ice Cream is looking to build of team of students to assist with ice cream production. Duties include:
-label printing
-labeling cups
-being point-of-sale during events
-production (4-8 hour blocks of time, depending on the production schedule)
The Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding (CDCB) is delighted to invite applications for the 2024 Summer Internship Program. This opportunity provided for dairy or animal science students will include learning and using research techniques to analyze dairy cattle genetics and management data.
Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Global Internship Program
Do you have Animal Science/ Pre-vet/ Environmental Science/ Psychology/Education/ students graduating in December that need an immersive internship? Green Chimney's have a unique internship from January to August which includes free room and board and a small stipend located in Brewster, NY.
National Bio- and Agri-Defense Facility (NBAF) Training Program
For two years Texas Tech University has administered the National Bio- and Agri-defense Facility (NBAF) training program through support from USDA-APHIS. The objective of the program is to train undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and animal handling.

The $1,500 Andrew F. Giesen III Poultry Science Undergraduate Internship Award is given to financially support students who have secured an internship for the year the award is given.
