Texas A&M's Ph.D. program in Genetics and Genomics is the premier interdisciplinary program in the Natural Sciences at Texas A&M University. It provides research opportunities in various specialties, from plant and conservation genetics to medical and molecular genetics. The program has fellowship opportunities provided by the Graduate and Professional School , one of which focuses on providing research opportunities to those underrepresented in the sciences. The online application is now open for fall 2025 admissions until December 1, 2024

How to apply:

  1. Complete the online application on GradCAS - https://texasam2025.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login
  2. Statement of Purpose and CV/resume uploaded directly on the GradCAS portal
  3. Three (3) letters of recommendation. Students will provide the contact information for 3 references and the system will request the letter on your behalf.
  4. Copy of unofficial transcripts uploaded directly on the GradCAS portal
  5. Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended sent to the Admissions Office - only after acceptance.
  6. Official scores from the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE): NOT needed nor considered for 2025 admissions!!!
  1. Official Test scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Scores between 26-30 are required for students to be eligible for a Teaching Assistantship.
