SPRING 2026 EQUINE INTERNSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE APPROACHING
The window to apply for the Spring 2026 KEMI internship is now open!
Spring 2026 dates: January 5-May 24, 2026
For Spring sessions applicant must apply by October 31 of the year prior to the internship session the applicant is applying to.
Spring interns are employed on central Kentucky farms where they will work primarily with broodmares, assisting with foalings, caring for newborn foals, accompanying mares to breeding sheds and performing routine care of these horses: cleaning stalls, feeding, and grooming. In addition to daily work on the farm, interns attend lectures each week that focus on topics of interest to the equine industry and Thoroughbred racing. These weekly lectures are presented by leading equine professionals and provide numerous opportunities for KEMI interns to network and refine their career goals.
